Silk is a born in Canada academic. Silk was raised in Fredericton. Silk is born to Peter Silk, a professor at the University of New Brunswick, as well as Ilkay, a playwright and director. She was also known as an actress. Anna recounts some of her earliest memories of life when she went to watch her mother perform during play rehearsals. Silk was a small girl in several commercials. She earned a Bachelors in Arts from St. Thomas University. Theatre St. Thomas was active in at least two early theater productions, including Seven Menus (1997) and The Kitchen (1999). Silk began her acting career when she moved to Toronto Canada in November of 1999. She then moved from Toronto to Los Angeles for the remainder of that decade. Seth Cooperman met Silk at an acting workshop at Los Angeles in 2007. In 2009 they were legally married in December of 2009. The couple renewed their vows on April 10, 2011 in Fredericton in the aftermath of their changed her religion to Judaism.
