Lita Rossana Ford (or Lita Ford, as she's popularly known as was an American born British guitarist and singer who was the leader of the only female hard-rock group The Runaways during the late 1970s. The band did not enjoy an enormous following within The United States. However, the group's popularity increased abroad especially in Japan. Ford embarked on a heavy-metal solo career when the group was disbanded in 1979. After receiving voice lessons, Ford released her debut solo album "Out for Blood" and then "Dancin on the Edge". Ford vanished for some decades from the world of music after the two albums didn't get the attention they deserved. Her smashing hit, 'Lita came out in 1989. Kiss Me Deadly, and Close My Eyes Forever both became big hits. The popularity of her was short-lived, and she disappeared for a couple of years. The resurgence of her career came with release of "Black" from 1995 as well as "Wicked Wonderland", almost fifteen years later. Her most recent album 'Time Capsule was launched in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine gave her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
